Using Wax Melts Safely

Updated: May 26, 2023

Wax melts offer a long-lasting scent and a flameless way to fragrance a space. It's important to use them safely to prevent accidents and ensure their longevity. Here are some tips on how to use your wax melts safely:

Use a wax melt warmer designed for wax melts: Wax melt warmers are specifically designed to melt wax and diffuse the fragrance, making them the safest option. Don't try to use a candle warmer or any other type of warmer that's not designed for wax melts.

Place the wax melt warmer on a stable surface: Make sure the surface you place the warmer on is level and stable and keep it away from anything that could be flammable, like curtains or paper.

Use the right amount of wax melts: It's tempting to overload the warmer with wax melts to achieve a stronger scent, but this can be dangerous. Overloading the warmer can cause the wax to overflow and create a fire hazard.

Never leave a wax melt warmer unattended: Always keep an eye on your wax melt warmer, especially if you have children or pets around. If you need to leave the room, turn off the warmer and let the wax cool before moving it.

Don't touch the melted wax: The melted wax can be hot and can cause burns if touched. Let the wax cool completely before handling the dish or disposing of the wax.

Keep the wax melt warmer clean: Over time, the dish that holds the wax melts can become dirty or clogged with leftover wax. Clean it regularly with a soft cloth and avoid using abrasive materials that can scratch the surface.

Dispose of used wax safely: When the wax is no longer fragrant, dispose of it properly. Wait for it to cool and solidify before removing it from the dish.

Safety first always.
